From various providers to different packages, finding the one that meets you and your family\u2019s needs can feel overwhelming.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before you sign on any dotted line, here are some things you should consider to ensure that you get the coverage that is right for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. The insurer&#8217;s reputation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do some homework by researching different providers online. You can read customer feedback and reviews to see if people have been satisfied with their services. To sell policies, funeral plan providers also need to be registered with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fsca.co.za\/Pages\/Default.aspx\">Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA)<\/a>, which will prove that they meet the necessary requirements to operate legally.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. The coverage amount<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Consider all the costs associated with funerals, such as venue hire, burial site payment, headstones and catering. Once you have an idea of how much this would cost, you will have a good idea of the type of coverage you will need. Also, decide which family members you want to include in your policy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. The monthly premiums<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With it being an extra but necessary expense, it\u2019s important to know how much the monthly premiums are so that you can factor this into your budget. Most providers have several plans available, ranging from entry-level to comprehensive, so that you can find one that you can afford. You should also find out how these premiums will increase over time.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. The waiting periods<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With some providers, you\u2019re coverage will come into effect immediately. With others, there will be a waiting period. You must know what the starting date of your funeral insurance is. It\u2019s also a good idea to find out how long it will take for funds to become available to your family should someone pass away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. The exclusions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In some cases, there are certain situations that will not be eligible for funeral cover payouts. These can include deaths that are a result of illegal or dangerous activities. Sometimes, pre-existing health conditions won\u2019t be insured. Make sure that you read the terms and conditions so you know what will be covered.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6.
