21st Century Funeral Service plans start from R190 a month, with five tiers available up to R405 a month depending on the number of family members covered and the benefits included.
21st Century Funeral Service plans cover up to 10 family members on one policy, with the Family Protector plan (R375 a month) built specifically for larger families; other plans cover up to 6 members.
Every plan includes a full funeral service, hearse, funeral refreshments and grocery benefits. Higher-tier plans (Prestige Plus and Executive) also include family vehicles and hall décor.

21st Century Funeral Service operates six branches across KwaZulu-Natal: Durban Central (Head Office), Pinetown, Ntuzuma/Midway Crossing, Umlazi, Empangeni and Umbilo.
The five plans differ mainly by monthly price (R190 to R405), the number of family members covered (up to 6, or up to 10 on Family Protector) and which extra benefits are included, such as family vehicles and hall décor on Prestige Plus and Executive.

Yes. Our funeral cover plans have a 3-month waiting period before claims can be submitted, subject to the terms and conditions of your policy. However, in the case of an accidental death, only one paid premium is required before a valid claim can be considered, provided all other policy terms and conditions have been met.

Adding or removing a dependant is simple. Complete a Policy Amendment Form, available at any 21st Century Funeral Service branch. Once the completed form has been submitted, our team will process the requested changes in accordance with your policy terms and conditions. If you need assistance, our branch staff will be happy to help you complete the
amendment process.
If you miss a premium payment, we’ll notify you and one of our friendly customer service representatives will contact you to discuss payment arrangements. Please note that if three premium payments are missed, your policy will lapse.
To update your banking details, simply complete a Policy Amendment Form, available at any 21st Century Funeral Service branch. Once submitted, we’ll process the changes as quickly as possible.
Tombstones are not included in our standard funeral cover plans. However, you can add a Tombstone Policy as a supplementary benefit. This provides a professionally installed tombstone, with options available from R7,500, depending on the type and design you choose.
Yes. We offer both cremation and funeral services, with cremation services available throughout the province.
Yes. All our funeral cover plans include free repatriation within South Africa and throughout the SADC region, ensuring your loved one can be returned home with dignity.
