1. What services does 21st Century Funeral Services offer?
At 21st Century Funeral Services we offer funeral insurance plans that provide funeral services with catering inclusive. Even if you don’t have a funeral policy with us, we are still able to offer you funeral services for your loved ones. Other services that we offer include tombstone, memorial services, cremation services and grave plots
2. Where can I find 21st Century Funeral Services?
We offer our services to our clients all over South Africa. However, our physical branches are currently found in Kwa-Zulu. Natal with our head office being in Durban Central .
3. What type of cover am I buying?
The cover you’re buying is a funeral cover, which provides you with a funeral service and other funeral benefits such as catering, and a headstone when the someone covered on the policy becomes deceased.
4. Who can take out this plan? And who will be covered?
Any with a valid South African identity number between the ages of 18 and 65 years at the start of the cover, can be covered on any of our 21st Century Funeral Services plans. The person who takes the funeral plan is the main member person, and their children should they have any are automatically covered.
5. How much funeral cover can I take out?
At 21st Century Funeral Services, we offer funeral benefit from R30 000 to R100 000.
6. How many family members can I add to my policy?
Our standard 21st Century Funeral Services family plans allows you to add yourself as the main member, your spouse and up to four children with all plans included catering, décor and complete burial service. However, our Family Protector Deluxe plan allows you to add an additional four extended family members, a total of 10 family members one plan, this plan unfortunately does not include catering.
7. Is there a waiting period?
Yes, all our plans have a waiting period of 3 months.
8. What is the waiting period for accidental death?
There is no waiting period for accidental death remember to submit the correct supporting documentation.
9. Are there any exclusions? Reasons for which my policy might not pay out?
Unfortunately, there are some cases where a funeral policy will be declined, and some of these reasons include: • Suicide in the first 24 months from the person was covered • War, invasion, act of a foreign enemy, hostilities (whether war be declared or not), terrorism, civil war, rebellion, revolution or any occurrence incidental to or arising from any of the aforementioned or any attempt at any of the aforementioned • Any act or omission by the covered person which is in violation of any law. *We advise you refer to your Ts&Cs for full exclusions and explanations
10. How do I claim?
You can claim by contact our offices on 0861 217 218 or sending us a WhatsApp on 065 995 4606. Our team will then be in touch promptly to advise on the next step and required documents for claim submission.
11. How long does it take for a claim to be paid?
Claims are paid within 48 hours, after all supporting documents have been received and verified by 21st Century Funeral Services and the underwriter.
